Building Content Blocks
Updated over a week ago

Overview

Content blocks in the Portal Builder are pre-configured components designed to enhance the content presentation within your candidate portal. They provide a variety of ways to display information effectively, without the need for additional design or technical work.

Accessing Content Blocks

  1. Within the Portal Builder, locate the panel that lists different content block types – it's usually in a sidebar for easy access.

  2. Click on the “+ New” button or directly select the type of content block you wish to add to your portal.

  3. On the home screen, click on the "blocks" tab under the library menu and this will bring you to your library to start creating company-wide content.

Types of Content Blocks

  • Text: Utilize this block for adding plain text content, such as welcome messages or descriptions.

  • FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions can be structured neatly in this block, providing candidates with quick answers.

  • Video: Embed video content to offer a dynamic way to engage with candidates.

  • Image: Insert images to visually support your text content or to showcase your work environment.

  • Interview Tips: Offer candidates valuable advice and guidelines on how to prepare for interviews.

  • Sample Questions: Present potential questions candidates might face to help them prepare.

  • Benefits: Highlight the benefits and perks of working at your organization.

  • Team: Showcase team members

  • Link: Provide direct links to resources, articles, or any relevant external content.

    • Note - the recommended dimensions for images you upload are 750 x 450

  • Section: Organize your content into distinct sections for better readability and navigation.

  • Ask AI: Implement an interactive AI feature

  • Import from Library: If you have preset content or templates, use this option to add them to your portal.

Customizing Content Blocks

  • Click on the chosen content block from the sidebar to add it to your page.

  • Customize the block by adding the specific content relevant to its type. For instance, in a ‘Team’ block, you might add profiles of your team members.

  • You can drag and drop these blocks to reorder them on your page.

  • The content block names are indicative of their intended use, but feel free to repurpose them creatively to suit your content strategy.

Best Practices

  • Consistency: Keep the style and tone of your content consistent across all blocks.

  • Clarity: Ensure the information is clear, concise, and serves the candidate's need for knowledge.

  • Engagement: Use a mix of text, images, and video content to keep the candidate engaged.

Note

The content blocks are visually differentiated to ensure each type stands out and is easily identifiable by candidates. This differentiation helps in guiding candidates through the portal in an intuitive manner.

Always preview your portal after adding or editing content blocks to ensure that the layout and content appear as expected on different devices.
