How to activate a job to use within candidate.fyi

Updated over a week ago

The activation and duplication feature is designed to streamline the creation of new job portals by copying settings and content from an existing 'template' job.

Activating a Portal

  1. Navigating to the Activation Section

    • From the main menu, select 'Portals'.

    • Click on the 'To Activate' tab to view jobs imported from your ATS that are ready for portal activation.

  2. Initiating Activation

    • Find the job you wish to activate and click the 'Activate' button associated with it.

  1. Configuring the Job Portal

    • A pop-up will appear, prompting you to confirm the 'Display Name' or make edits if necessary.

    • To duplicate settings from an existing job, select a job from the 'Copy Settings From Job' dropdown menu.

      • This will replicate all the existing content, team profiles, and stage mappings.

  1. Finalizing Activation

    • Proceed to the configuration flow for the specific job (as prompted by the interface), which allows you to fine-tune settings such as email notifications and stage mappings.

    • Review the stage mappings to ensure they reflect the current recruitment process for the new job. If settings were copied from another job, make adjustments as necessary to fit the new role.

Duplicating Job Settings

  1. Copy from an Existing Job

    • During the activation process, use the option to 'Copy Settings From Job' to replicate the setup from an established template job.

    • This includes all content blocks, team member profiles, interview stage mappings, and any custom configurations.

  2. Editing Duplicated Settings

    • After the settings are copied, you have the opportunity to edit the details:

  3. Finalizing the Duplicated Job Portal

    • Review all stages and settings carefully.

    • If all settings are correct, proceed by clicking 'Done' to activate the new job portal.

Best Practices

  • Template Jobs: Establish a few well-designed template jobs that can serve as the basis for most new job activations.

  • Customization: Always customize the copied settings to address the specifics of the new job role.

  • Verification: Ensure that the stage mappings accurately reflect the recruitment process for the new job.

  • Consistency: Maintain consistency in the look and feel across different job portals to provide a cohesive candidate experience.

Troubleshooting

  • Content Mismatch: If content from the template doesn't fit the new job, go back and edit the individual blocks.

  • Stage Mismatch: If the stages don't line up, revisit the stage mappings and adjust accordingly.

  • Notification Settings: Double-check email and notification settings to ensure they're appropriate for the new role.

The duplication feature greatly reduces the time and effort needed to create new job portals by allowing you to replicate the framework of existing portals. It's an efficient way to manage multiple job openings while ensuring each has a tailored presentation for potential candidates.
